Abstract

School X has a mission of developing a community of learners that embraces the hearts, minds and enriches the lives of all students through a comprehensive curriculum. It is seen that in the report cards of students that most are developing and achieving well in all subject areas. However in the subject of mathematics, there is a difference in scores compared to other subjects.. The ability of students to face challenges is possibly related to grit. The purpose of this research is to determine the difference of Grit in mathematics based on the approaches to learning model of students. The research method is quantitativenon experimental. The sample technique is purposive sampling, The number of research samples are 76 students in grade 5 . The measurement used in this is paired sampling t-test through the use of secondary data through the approaches to learning model. Based on the results of the research there is an increase of scores from insufficient, sufficient, and satisfactory to adequate, good, and excellent. The results of the study indicate that there is a significance of 0.000 (p< 0.05) in the difference of grit scores of mathematics grade students through the approaches to learning model.
