KARAKTERISTIK PUISI SISWA KELAS 4 DI SDN KEBON JERUK 06 JAKARTA

Abstract

This study aims to obtain an objective description of the characteristics that appear in the
poetry of 4th grade students at SDN Kebon Jeruk 06 Jakarta. This type of research is qualitative
using content analysis method. The results of the study explain that the poetry characteristics of
4th grade students at SDN Kebon Jeruk 06 Jakarta are in accordance with the characteristics of
children's poetry based on the physical and mental structure of the poem. The physical structure
of poetry includes diction, images, concrete words, figure of speech, and typography. While the
inner structure of poetry, namely the theme, taste, tone, and mandate. The diction in the
children's poetry is dominated by concrete words which have simple and denotative meanings.
The images used are dominated by visual images. The figure of speech used is personification
and parable. The typography used is conventional typography with some of the stanzas indented.
The themes used are themes related to family, ideals, and nature. The taste, tone, and
atmosphere conveyed are related to happiness, hope, enthusiasm, and gratitude. The mandates
that can be seen in the poem, such as expressions of affection and gratitude to mother,
enthusiasm to achieve goals, and the need to protect nature.
