ANALYZING PRAGMATICS : DEIXIS PERSON ACTIVITIES (Maleficent Movie)

Abstract


ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to identify and classify the types, and functions of persona deixis used and contained in the movie. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. Deixis data is taken from the sentences used in the Maleficent movie. In English, there are 3 types of person deixis: first person deixis, second person deixis, and third person deixis. The results of this study indicate that there are 3 types of deixis found in the movie: first person deixis: I, me, my, mine, us, our, we; second person deixis: you; dan third person deixis: they, he, she, him, her, it. Keywords : linguistic, Analysis Pragmatic, Person Deixis.
