Abstract


The pedagogical competence of teachers experienced a decline during the COVID-19 pandemic, due to challenges and a paradigm shift regarding changing the learning system to online learning. This setback causes students to also experience a setback in motivation to learn. The purpose of this study was to analyze the role of teacher pedagogic competence in increasing students' learning motivation during online learning. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques from the study of literature. The results of the study indicate that changes in the learning system have had many impacts on teachers and students. Teachers are required to process the class appropriately, convey material clearly, innovate in packaging learning material, and motivate students to always be active in learning during online times. Thus, it can be concluded that the pedagogic competence of teachers is very influential in increasing students' learning motivation during online learning.
