Abstract

The application of pedagogical content knowledge (PCK) describes the ability of teachers to integrate content knowledge into knowledge of curriculum, teaching, and student characteristics that can require teachers to compose learning situations. A professional teacher is not only required to master the content of the lesson but is also expected to understand the best way to transfer that content to students who have varying levels of understanding and how teachers establish effective communication with students to help them understand the content of learning and build student understanding. Good pedagogical content knowledge (PCK) is synonymous with professional teachers. However, professional teachers are not born but are formed through a series of processes and a long time to gain the skills and knowledge needed to become professional teachers in their fields. Therefore, teachers and prospective teachers need a teaching material to support it, so it is necessary to develop materials and how to teach them, namely pedagogical content knowledge (PCK).
