PENGGUNAAN MEDIA WHATSAPP UNTUK MENINGKATKAN LITERASI DIGITAL DIMASA COVID-19

Abstract


Digital literacy is a user's knowledge and skills in utilizing digital media. This literacy is
in the form of information that can equip a person with the ability to use, and utilize carefully
and wisely. In this digital era, students are already using smartphones in their daily activities,
both at school and outside of school. The emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia
has a very influential impact on the education. One way to keep learning running according
to standards, all elements of education must utilize technology in connecting between
educators and students. Whatsapp is one of the digital media that has a great influence and is
widely used by humans. Especially during the covid-19 period, all schools in Indonesia use
online learning, which requires learning activities to use smartphones. Most students and
educators use WhatsApp as a place to discuss, provide materials, give assignments, and
collect assignments. In this research, the authors are interested in conducting research using
descriptive qualitative research methods in the realm of case study research. The purpose of
this research is to know: 1. The use of whatsapp as a digital literacy media for students and 2.
To increase students' interest in literacy.
