Abstract


Learning media is one component to help carry out learning activities in various conditions, such as during the current covid-19 pandemic where schools need learning media that can help run distance learning. Distance learning is learning that is done from home and the use of learning media that can still help to achieve learning objectives. In learning, there are various kinds of media that can be used coupled with the times so that more and more media can help the course of learning activities for both face-to-face and distance learning. However, since 2020 due to the spread of COVID-19, learning is carried out remotely using various learning media. One of the media that can be used for distance learning is the WhatsApp application. The purpose of this study was to determine the use of the WhatsApp application as a learning medium in distance learning during the Covid-19 pandemic in elementary schools. This research is a qualitative research with data collection methods using questionnaires, observation and literature study. The subject of this study is class V with 28 students and 2 teachers at SDN Grogol 05. The results of this study are that there is a positive relationship between the WhatsApp application as a learning medium that has various benefits for distance learning.
